Ian Breitlow, who has "done so many grassroots events in the Midwest," calls this "#1 for quality and hospitality" citing "hot coffee and pastries in the morning" and "super clean, not-porta potty bathrooms." "Maps were a bit wonky" and Carolyn Franzone got lost on the shake-out ride due to cue sheet errors.[2]

Leslie Johnson enjoyed "a true gravel experience highlighting MN rolling farmland, barns and bluff views" while Jeanne Fricke called it "one of the prettiest rides I've ever done." The Driftless terrain offers "spectacular views" with "wide open to wooded descents" and minimal pavement once riders reach the ridge system.[1]

Ryan Greene, who "raced all over this year everything from Midsouth to Montana to Steamboat," noted "the only thing lacking was some organization and that big finish line feel" compared to established events. The race caps at 300 riders and launched in 2024, building grassroots reputation rather than national recognition.[2]
